THE 10th annual Haverfordwest Beer and Cider Festival is this weekend, and it's set to be a corker.

The family-friendly event is expected to draw in thousands of visitors to Haverfordwest Castle over the August bank holiday weekend (Friday, August 26, to Sunday, August 28).

Drinkers will have more than 30 beers to choose from, all made in Wales, plus a fantastic variety of ciders, including firm favourites and festival regulars Gethin’s Pembrokeshire Cyder.

New faces Angel cocktail bar will also be there, with an array of mixed drinks for non-beer drinkers.

To soak up the booze, there will be vegetable curry or delicious meaty treats from Trehale Farm.

On offer to younger visitors (or the youthful at heart), there will be face painting and henna tattoos, craft and activity stalls, plus live music all weekend including old favourites 2 Zone as well as fantastic ska band Chalk Outlines in the headline slot.

Entry is £5, which includes our special souvenir drinking glass, and a programme with detailed tasting notes.

Check out the Facebook page for details of weekend passes, updates and competitions.

"The festival runs on the goodwill of local businesses and the hard work of a handful of volunteer, and we look forward to welcoming you to our 10-year celebration of this great community event," said Julie Parry, one of the event organisers.

The event opens at 5pm on Friday.
