A flipping great fundraiser for Tenby RNLI brought half-term fun to the town's Tudor Square.

Tenby RNLI's annual pancake race may have been a week ahead of Shrove Tuesday, but it certainly served up a sweet way of helping a worthy cause. The event, now in its seventh year, saw a large crowd gather in the square to enjoy watching a variety of races, with contestants racing up the road, tossing their pancakes at the same time.

The keenest competition came in the crew race, with the lifeboat volunteers, in full kit, joined by RNLI mascot Stormy Stan for a challenging sprint that was won by crew member Yobbler.

It was the turn of the youngsters to take part in the first races, with four-year-old Blossom Arthur, eight-year-old Sam Norris and nine-year-old Noah Williams emerging triumphant.

The mayor of Tenby, Councillor Lawrence Blackhall, new Tenby town crier Jim Cornwell joined a sporting PCSO in the adult's race, while Hannah Palmer from the nearby Baytree won the chef's race.

The winners of each race received a prize donated by local businesses. The day's fundraising for Tenby RNLI continued with a two-course pancake lunch at the Fourcroft Hotel.

Event organiser Jo Thomas thanked everyone who supported the event and praised the "community spirit" that had helped to make it such a success.
