A Fishguard man has admitted bombarding a woman with aggressive and sexual messages.

John George Evans, 35, of Main Street, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, and pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment without violence.

He admitted pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to harassment between February 16 and March 3, 2017.

The court heard that Evans continually telephoned and left 12 aggressive and sexually orientated messages in 15 days.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said: “He rang her a number of times, but she did not want to be contacted. She told the police and they warned him not to contact her.”

Evans then began calling her again, and the court heard that Evans told her he found her attractive and wanted to spend time with her in the earlier messages, but became abusive and made sexual references when she did not reply.

Mr Pritchard-Jones added: “She became upset by the messages and contacted the police again.”

Evans admitted sending the messages.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn the case until May 9, for more information to be made available regarding Evans’ mental health.

He was released on bail with the conditions not to contact the victim, or enter the counties of Avon or Somerset.
