THREE of Pembrokeshire College’s Bridging 1 group have been crowned Adult Boccia champions after competing against teams in the adult tournament, held in Milford Haven Leisure Centre.
Following five climatic games, the College’s Rocky Racers competed against the Crymych Panthers to secure the winners’ trophy in a nail-biting final which ended with a close score of 4:3.
College Bridging 1 students, Craig Deakin, Liam Pritchard and Lauren Wallace have been playing the disability sport for approximately six months as part of the ColegauCymru Community Hub project, and were praised for their impressive performance against high level teams.
Fellow students, Leah Polkinhorn, Chelsea Harvey and Brittany Borkowski also competed as the Bridging Angels.
Pembrokeshire College’s Bridging 1 tutor, Jane Stewart was thrilled with the result: “Each game was extremely intense and exciting! We’re very proud of everyone who took part.”
The tournament was arranged in conjunction with Sport Pembrokeshire, Disability Sport Wales and Valero, recognising and celebrating diversity in sport.
