A Neyland man is to face several charges of indecent assault and gross indecency at crown court.

John Smith, aged 46, of High Street, appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday to face a total of 17 charges.

He is alleged to have committed six charges of indecent assault on a boy under 14, and four charges of gross indecency with a boy under 14 in the early 1990s.

Smith is also accused of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child between 23 August 2010 and 16 August 2014, possession of a prohibited image of a child and possession of an extreme pornographic image portraying intercourse with an animal.

Four further allegations involve touching a girl under 13 in a sexual way in 2005.

No pleas were entered to any of the charges, and Smith was released on unconditional bail to appear at Swansea crown court on August 25.
