ARMBANDS at the ready, as Milford Haven's paddling pool re-opens for the summer.
The outdoor pool on the Rath opened this week, thanks to the hard work of volunteers.
Freshly cleaned and painted, it is ready to welcome youngsters in need of a dip during the school holidays.
The pool was earmarked for closure earlier this year, as the county council looked to save money.
But, thanks to the generosity of the community, £1,000 was raised to keep it open for another year.
Cheques of £500 from the Astoria Nightclub and the Church at Nantucket were received in April.
A petition calling on local councils to step up and save the pool, set up by Brian Phillips, was also signed by more than 1,000 people.
The pool will be on the agenda at Milford Town Hall on Monday night, when the county council's director of social services and leisure, and head of leisure services, speak with councillors before their monthly meeting.
The pool will be open Monday to Friday, 10am until 6pm, and 10am until 4pm on weekends.
