POLICE are conducting house-to-house enquiries after four burglaries in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire on Monday (September 11).

The burglaries occurred at homes in Letterson and Mathry, and Capel Hendre and St Clears.

Among the items stolen was jewellery 'of a sentimental value' and mobile devices.

Forensic examination of the scenes is being carried out, and CCTV examined.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the areas at the time to come forward.

A spokesman said: "The Police would also like to hear from any residents within these areas who may have been approached and asked if they had jewellery to sell.

"A vehicle, which may be linked to the burglaries, is described as a sporty white/silver Mini with a dark coloured roof."

Temporary DCI Anthony Evans, who is leading the investigation, said: “We believe the burglaries all occurred on Monday afternoon and may be linked.

"A lot of the jewellery has sentimental value and having them stolen has been very distressing for the victims.

“I would like to reassure our communities that all efforts are being made to trace the individuals concerned.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have information that could help the investigation to contact police.”

Anyone with information that can help the investigation is asked to contact police by phoning 101.
