LAST month’s plea for support as supplies ran out at PATCH (Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship) prompted a local political group to lend a hand.
Solva and St Davids Labour Party branch decided to adopt PATCH as one of its charities after seeing the urgent appeal on Facebook and have been collecting food since.
Member Olivia Atkinson was voted PATCH co-ordinator. She has been collecting and delivering weekly parcels of food and other household items to the charity.
At monthly Branch meetings members bring in extra donations, making a larger delivery possible each month.
“The Labour Party members are committed to action in support of our communities as sadly the hardship that people are suffering seems to be continuing within Pembrokeshire we ask people to continue to contribute what they can to PATCH so they can continue their much needed work,” a spokesman said.
