TRIBUTES have been paid to a 21-year-old woman who died following a car accident while she was on her way to work at a Pembrokeshire tourist attraction.

Anwen Heledd Thomas, who had only recently graduated from university, had been working at Folly Farm.

She was driving a Ford Ka which was involved in a collision with a lorry on the A478 near Llandissilio on Tuesday September 5.

She was taken to Morrison Hospital, Swansea by air ambulance, but sadly passed away the following day.

Anwen, who lived at Maesyllan, Login, was formerly of Rhydypandy, near Swansea, and graduated this summer from the University of Wales,Trinity St David.

She had been working as a catering assistant at Folly Farm,.

A spokesman for Folly Farm said that everyone at the attraction was deeply saddened by the news of her death.

They added: “Our thoughts go out to Anwen’s family at this very difficult and sad time.

“Anwen was a hugely-popular member of the catering team, always happy and smiling with time for everyone.

“She was a hardworking, dedicated member of staff and someone who took great pride in her work as part of the supervisory team.

“She was a happy and bubbly person who was respected by all, and will very much missed by her friends and colleagues, and a huge loss to Folly Farm.”

Anwen leaves her parents, Glyn and Euryl, sister Sioned and partner Llewellyn.

The funeral took place on Saturday at Nebo Chapel, Efailwen, when donations in lieu of flowers were requested towards Wales Air Ambulance.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash,which occurred at around 8.30am on Tuesday September 5.
