THE Hermon Young Farmers group helped British Heart Foundation Cymru's lifesaving research by organising several events and raising £500 for the charity.

The Young Farmers group held several events including a bingo evening and also went carol singing in the local community last December.

"We are delighted to support BHF Cymru as it is such a worthy cause," said Steffan Evans from the group. "We had great fun organising the events and were pleased to raise £500. Thank you to everyone in the local community who helped and supported this worthy cause."

Jayne Lewis, BHF Fundraising Manager for South West Wales thanked the young farmers, their family, friends and the local community.

"Too many lives are lost in Wales each year, and we're determined to do everything we can to protect more families from this devastation," she said.

"Around 375,000 people across Wales this month are fighting a daily battle with heart and circulatory disease.

"Each year these devastating conditions claim the lives of more than 750 people per month in Wales alone and thanks to the local groups and organisations in the area we'll be able to fund even more research into these conditions."
