PROTESTORS assembled in Haverfordwest today to oppose the UK government's decision to join airstrikes in Syria.
The protest gathered on the Old Bridge at 12.30, then marched along Bridge Street from 1pm, ending at Castle Square.
There were around 200 people there, with speakers including Sonia Klein of CND Cymru, Jim Scott of Stop the War Coalition Pembrokeshire, Dave Watson of the Pembrokeshire Peace Group, Human Rights Lawyer Robbie Manson, David Doorbar of the Quakers, and Adam Pollard-Powell the vice-chair of Preseli Pembrokeshire Labour Party.
Speakers came together to voice their opposition to the UK government’s decision to join the USA and France in conducting airstrikes in Syria over the last week.
Jim Scott said: “Organising this demo today showed me there is so much unity among those who want a better world.
“Another world is possible and united we can make it happen.”
More to follow in this week’s Western Telegraph.
