ST DAVIDS all-weather lifeboat was launched to the aid of a yacht with engine failure on Sunday night (June 17).
Crews were called to the casualty at 2.30pm. The 13 metre yacht, with two crew aboard, had got into difficulty en-route between from Aberdovey to Portugal. It was 11 nautical miles north west from the lifeboat station when it called for help.
Once the lifeboat arrived, the crew secured a tow line to the casualty vessel and took it under tow to Fishguard Harbour.
After the towing operation which took several hours, they arrived at Fishguard and secured the yacht to the RNLI's emergency mooring.
With this tasking complete the lifeboat returned to station, arriving at St Justinian at 9.50pm.
