Golfers rain supreme

The Kilgetty Golf Society held its winter trip at the Gower Golf Club last month.

On the first day, the 19 players were met with driving rain, but conditions improved vastly on the second day.

Tuesday prizes: 1, Simon Wood, 30 points (pts); 2, Wyn Hopkins, 29 pts; 3, Josh Bevan, 28 points. Team winners: Steve Rigby, Wyn Hopkins, and Barry Wood 81 pts.

Longest Drive: Simon Davies.

Wednesday prizes: 1, John Williams, 36 pts; 2, Gareth Gwyther, 34 pts; 3, Barry Wood, 33pts. Team winners: Anthony Ryan, John Williams, and Martin Davies 91 pts. Longest drive: Shaun Taylor.

Nearest the pin: Simon Wood. Over 20 handicap: Anthony Ryan. OAP: Shared by Darrell Jones and Barry Wood. Wooden Spoon: Roger Woodward The overall winner was Steve Rigby.

The presentations were made by Steve Jones.

Despite the inauspicious start, the occasion and accommodation at the Gower was enjoyed by everyone. The next meeting is scheduled for St Davids Golf Club on February 13th.
