THE Bluebirds fully deserved this win against a quick and inventive young Swans side.
They had much the better of the first half and deservedly led 2-0 at the interval. They went ahead with a fine goal in the 25th minute, when Richie Lewis swept a whiplash cross from left to right behind the Swans defence for Steffan Williams to cut through and cross unselfishly for Joe Leahy to finish. The second goal in the 40th minute was a replica of that triangle with Lewis right boot this time being the starting point.
The second half was even faster than the first and the Swans announced an attacking intent early on when they had a goal disallowed for offside. They scored twice, in the 60th minute and the 75th, but in between Chris OSullivan converted a penalty after Rob Morgans had been brought down by the keeper.
A grandstand finish saw the Bluebirds concede an indirect free kick inside their penalty area only for Peter Blain to pull off a superb save. Greg Walters then had a fine headed goal ruled out for offside before Dale Griffiths headed against the bar.
