Club President's Day
LAST Saturday, Chris Davies the club president held his golf day when over 140 players took part.
There were some amazing scores with the best by Leigh Broome with 47 points who won the presidents putter with the best overall.

This Saturday, the club will be holding an individual stableford competition for the Tom Stockwood cup; followed by an evening of entertainment which will be held in a marquee in front of the clubhouse. Tickets are £10 each available from behind the bar and all proceeds will be donated to cancer organisation in memory of Pam Price and Jackie Rabbioti.
Daily Mail Foursomes
IN the Daily Mail Foursomes the clubs pairing of Shaun Dyson and Matthew Humphreys just failed in their attempt to reach the quarter finals of the Daily Mail foursomes they lost at Creigiau Golf Club on the last hole and losing one down.
LAST Sunday the ladies section had to cancel the Golf Union of Wales Rookery Nook medal competition sponsored by Braemar Howells because of the weather.
The next competition will be on (today) Thursday its the Ladies Open Day and the following day they will play a match against Haverfordwest Ladies at home.
LAST Tuesday, the senior section took on the ladies section in their annual friendly match and crumbled to the ladies by four wins and three halves to two wins and three halves a total of five and a half to three and a half.
Congratulations to Barbara Phillips who eagled the par four third hole; she holed her second shot from well over a 100 yards, but commiseration to her playing partner Pearl Slate who straight after Barbara's ace shot could only stand and stare as she watched her electric trolley roll down the slope from the third green and head straight in to the pond on the fourth hole.
Pearl was unable to continue in her match; Barbara continued to play the match by herself against David Christopher and Mike Durward who won the match to gain a vital point.

Seniors' Captain's Day
LAST Thursday, Gwyn French the seniors captain held his golf day for the senior section and his guests where over 50 players took part.
On a lovely day for golf with the fairways greening up after the rain and with the greens having had work carried out for the Welsh team Championship most of the players found them much slower than previous weeks.

Woodbine Cup for seniors past captains presented by George James who donated the cup was won by George Davies with 40 points.
The twos kitty was shared by three players Ken Edwards, Billy West and Bernard Hewitt.
On Friday 9th August the senior section will be holding a Stableford competition with the first draw 10.30 a m this competition will also be a qualifier for Colin Reynolds points.
Welsh Team Championship
THE club will be hosting for the first time ever the Welsh Team Championship as part of their centenary celebrations, from Thursday, August 15 (practice day) to Sunday, August 18 inclusive and the course will be closed to all members and visitors from Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18. Anyone who can act as marshals and ball spotters should contact chairman of greens Lyndon Brown.
CONGRATULATIONS to Brandon Cooper who finished a creditable third in the Wales Junior Open held at Celtic Manor.
Last weekend junior section played their Junior Club Championship played over the two days with 18 holes played on each day.Brandon Cooper retained the title .
The presentation was carried out by club Captain John Price who also announced that Calum Day will be junior captain in 2014

THE Tigers match versus Garnant Park Golf Club at home last Sunday was cancelled as the weather was terrible and will be played on another date.
The Tigers will play Glynhir Golf Club away on Sunday.
THE Rabbits beat Tenby by four matches to two in their Three Counties A League match at home.
This Sunday, the Rabbits have a game at Carmarthen.
