WHITLAND RFC will remember a club stalwart on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Roy Newton Memorial Match will take place between a Whitland XV and a Pembrokeshire Select XV at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn.
The game kicks off at 2.30pm.
The Whitland side will include players who were part of the youth team coached by Roy which reached the Welsh Youth Cup final in 2009.
Admission will be £3 for adults and free for children aged under 16.
All proceeds from the day will go to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), and refreshments will be available at the ground.
Roy, who represented the club as a player, coach, and long standing member – tragically died aged 52 after coming into collision with a car on a road between St Clears and Llangynnin in April 2012.
He has since been described by Whitland chairman Arwyn Thomas as a “great coach and man.”
