Caerau Ely 1
Haverfordwest County 1
A Point away to the fourth-placed side might sound a reasonable result but the Blues will still feel disappointed to have had such pressure and yet to have had to wait till the 80th minute for Rob Morgans’ equaliser.
The visitors dominated the early exchanges, with Jack Christopher and Steffan Williams prominent and with Sam Roden shooting wide after a corner had swung in.
In the 26th minute the Blues were hit by a Caerau Ely goal when ex-Bluebird Tyrrell Webbe headed down in the box for Andy Smith to score.
The Blues had by far the larger share of possession and territory in the half, but the game was finally balanced out with a double substitution just after the 70-minute mark, bringing on Greg Walters and Rob Morgans.
A ball in from the right came to him out left and he hammered in a fine volley.
This Saturday they are at home to Tata Steel, kick-off 2.30pm.
Haverfordwest County: Chris Curtis, Ricky Watts, Antonio Facciuto, Sam Roden, Dale Griffiths, Dylan Blain, Steffan Williams, Owain Thomas (Greg Walters, 74), Joey Leahy Declan Carroll, 45), Jack Christopher, Richie Lewis (Rob Morgans, 72).
