Defeats for Mariners and Seagulls

Division four west:
Fishguard made an excellent start against Hendy at The Moors as they were 10 points to the good in as many minutes but took their foot off the gas and allowed the visitors to grab three unconverted tries and take home the winning points.
Co-coach Huw Evans admitted it was a disappointing performance by the Seagulls after bustling flanker Steve Jenkins gave them the early advantage with a try which veteran No 10 Evans converted to go with a penalty.
The loss of influential No 8 Simon James and Mark Jones with injuries didn’t help either and tries from Joe Rogers, Gareth Roberts and Carl Rees were enough to give Hendy their fourth win on the trot – and third place in the table.
Milford Haven 32
Milford Haven scored six tries at The Observatory against Nantgaredig but still went down to defeat against a team which scored a try fewer but managed 17 points from kicks whilst the Mariners could only muster a single conversion by Tom Arnold.
Milford actually took the lead with two excellent tries but managed to trail 17-32 at half time, make a strong comeback and then conceded scores at vital times, their only consolation from a fourth successive defeat being the fact that they picked up their first bonus point as they had tries by Billy Marchant, James Passmore, Dean Matthews (back from Neyland), Steve Picton, Darren Lewis and Dean McSparron.
For Nantgaredig, there were tries from full back Bleddyn Lewis (2), wingers Gethin Page (2) and winger Rhys Edwards, with experienced kicker Darren Williamson chipping in with 17 points from four conversions and three penalties.
