RUNNERS taking part in the 14th running of the Pembrokeshire Half Marathon and 10k were greeted by breezy conditions in Dale.
The event, sponsored by South Hook LNG and support by TriExercise of Haverfordwest, attracted runners from across South Wales with some venturing across the border from England.
The Half Marathon started first and was won by former winner and course record holder, Mike Evans (TROTs), in one hour, 20 minutes ans nine seconds (1:20:09). The first lady home was Libby O’Duffy (Les Croupiers) in 1:40:06, who held off a close challenge from Sarah Tagg (Cardigan Running Club) and Ellie Astins (Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club).
The 10k was a battle of the youngsters, with Liam Bradley (Pembrokeshire Harriers) holding off Laurie Haworth to take the win in 37:06. First lady home was Delyth James (Morpeth Harriers) in 41:23.
The organisers, Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club, thanked the communities of Dale and Marloes for their support, and the two charities supported by the event, Greenacres Animal Rescue and Paul Sartori who provided volunteers for the course. All profits from the event will be shared between these two worthy causes.
