St Clears 3

Johnston 2

ST CLEARS clung on for a famous win at home against Johnston the visitors are struggling to find the kind of form that saw them lift the Senior Cup and West Wales Intermediate Cup last season.

In their earlier league clash The Tigers thumped The Saints six-nothing, but on Saturday, The Saints gained sweet revenge with a terrific win.

Sean Seymour-Davies opened the scoring for The Saints in the third minute, the striker delicately chipped Martin Langdon from 20 yards out.

Nick Squire sprung the Tigers’ off-side trap and raced clear to neatly add the second in the 35th minute.

The Tigers struck back on the hour mark, Nicky Woodrow making no mistake with a penalty effort.

But ten minutes later, and The Saints added a third goal, as Josh Jones tucking the ball past the outstretched Langdon.

Tigers’ skipper Chris Ormond headed home at a corner, to set-up a tense finale, but The Tigers failed to score again and The Saints were celebrating a famous win, much to the delight of their ecstatic manager Craig Weston.
