Division three west
Haverfordwest 7
Tycroes 15
HAVERFORDWEST battled all the way against visiting Tycroes and were in with a chance of winning throughout a hard-fought tussle.
The visitors took an early lead with a try from flanker James Ogden, which centre Carwyn Richards converted.
The Blues fought back but full back Ashley Sutton missed two kickable penalties - before unluckily missing out on a try when the referee deemed he had been beaten to grounding the ball by a Tycroes player after kicking ahead.
But Haverfordwest did get back level when a driving maul saw flanker Jonathan Mason score in the corner. Sutton converted from out side.
Richards then kicked a penalty for Tycroes on the brink of half time to give his side the lead again.
And in a hard fought second half, it was Tycroes who grabbed the only and decisive score when centre Chris Lemon sliced over from close range.
