LAST Saturday, the gents section returned to the winter league competition playing round five.

Considering the amount of rain fallen over the last few weeks the course was open but with no buggies allowed on the course; besides the winter league there was also a stableford competition for the non league players.

This was Gwyn Scale the club’s new captain’s first official duty; after an excellent rendering of “Why was he born so beautiful” by the Milford Haven Golf Club male voice choir and Gwyn got on with his duties to the usual banter by members.

Gwyn congratulated the retiring Centenary Club Captain John Price in his excellent year for all his work and dedication which he put into his year of office.

Gwyn went on to announce that David Humphreys is to be the new chairman of competitions and handicap for the coming year and that Paul Eva have agreed to assist him; he also congratulated Matthew Hearne on his hole-in-one.
