Gents
AGAIN the weather caused problems as players who still had a chance to qualify for the knock out stages went out early to try and avoid the worst of it as ten pairs went out but only three pairs completed the full 18 holes.
The pairing of David Humphreys and Wayne Warlow came in with 65 points which enabled them to qualify for the main matchplay competition increasing their best six scores from 406 points to 409 points; Adam Bayjoo and Anthony Jobson 64 points who increased their best six scores to 408 points and equalled Tony Potter and Simon Nicholas score but lost out on the best five scores.

The matchplay stages of the winter league will commence on Saturday 22, losers in first round of the match plays will then play three stableford competitions.
The February monthly medal sponsored by Alex Youds will be played this Saturday; this medal competition will be a qualifier for points for the Brian Bebb Shield.
Storm damage
MINOR storm damage has been caused on the course by the very high winds on Friday and Saturday to trees on the 3rd and 18th holes.
Gents annual handicap review 2014
THE gents’ annual handicap review will take place the last week in February; players who wish to have their handicap increased or reduced must put the request in writing to David Humphreys the new chairman of Competitions and Handicaps by February 23.
Ladies
WEATHER conditions had improved slightly when this week six brave ladies played in the stableford competition held last Tuesday, and playing the full 18 holes. They enjoyed sunny spells at the start of their rounds with the wind increasing during the latter part of the round before reaching the clubhouse and a welcome bowl of hot soup provided by Barry in Greens Restaurant.

There were no twos scored on the day which means a triple rollover for the twos kitty for next Tuesday competition.
This Sunday, there is Texas Scramble teeing off at midday.
Seniors
LAST Thursday, the seniors’ official stableford competition was cancelled because of the heavy rain forecasted; but ten of the seniors played a nine hole stableford competition mostly in the rain.
Milford Haven Golf club was sadden to hear of the death of former President and captain of the club Vic Crosland; Vic was a very popular member of the club for many years and was also Captain and President of the senior section.
Next seniors’ competition is a stableford and will be played today (Thursday) with the first draw at 10.30am. Further competitions are on Thursday 20 and Friday 28.
Juniors
THE winner of the junior competition played on Saturday, January 25 was Tom Wood.
South West Pembs Golf Alliance
THE February meeting will be held at Milford Haven Golf Club on Thursday, 27.
This competition is open to full male members of Haverfordwest, South Pembs, St David’s City, Tenby Golf Clubs and the host club. For tee times contact Matthew Hearne or Elliot Harding on 01646 697762 ext 2.
Haverfordwest Golf Club will be hosting the meeting on Thursday, March 27.
The alliance competitions will be played on Fridays in November; December 2014 and January; February and March 2015.
