Goodwick United 4
West Dragons 0
GOODWICK United comfortably despatched of West Dragons at home in the only game played in Division One on Saturday.
The rest of the top flight fixtures were victims of the terrible weather endorsed earlier in the week.
The hosts took the lead in the 16th minute when Dragons’ goalkeeper Ben Henton failed to gather and Lewis Banks struck with a close range tap-in.
The only sour note of the afternoon was Goodwick skipper Wayne O’Sullivan picking up a nasty knee injury that could see the no-nonsense defender out of action for a while.
Rhys Dalling added a second goal, again from close range before James Evans also scored that gave the hosts a three-goal cushion at half time.
Despite the visitors battling gamely it was the hosts who added a further goal in the 75th minute. Keeper James Gwlit’s long punt down field fell kindly for Dalling to tuck the ball home for his second goal of the game and secured the crucial league points.
