(After extra time)

HAKIN United conceded a last minute equaliser that forced extra time and they cruelly bowed out of the West Wales Intermediate Cup, losing 2-0 on penalties to Cwmfelin Press.

It was a bitter pill for Vikings boss Gary Dawes to swallow as they came so close to reaching the semis’. After going behind Ashley Bevan struck a superb 20-yard equaliser. Minutes later and the Vikings took the lead as centre back Gareth Fawcett headed in the back 9of the net. Paul Jones was unlucky not to add a third, the striker’s rising shot crashing against the bar.

But the Swansea League division one outfit sneaked an 89th minute equaliser and following extra-time won 2-0 on penalties, the Vikings remarkably did not score with their spot kicks.

Hakin United: James Manson, Leigh Broome, Gareth Fawcett, Nathan Banner, Steve Allen, Matthew Broome, Jonathan Bennett, Andrew Kingston, Ashley Bevan, James Stanmore, Paul Jones. Subs: Mike Cooper, Aaron Owens, Paul Jenkins.
