NEYLAND and District Sea Angling Club held a cash match at Dale Griffin beach.

Saundersfoot Angling Club also held a match, fishing was quite demanding with nothing landed in the day light, but after dark a few fish were bagged, after the weigh-in it was Keith Williams who picked up the first prize for the heaviest bag, he also took the pool for the heaviest fish. Brandon Hall was a close second with his bag, with the Kit-Kat man Bernie Davies taking the third prize.

The next match is this Sunday at Fishguard breakwater. Book in at 12.30pm and the match is 1 until 7pm.

The club held its annual presentation at Neyland Yacht Club on Saturday.

It was a good night for Claire Hal, who won the ladies champions angler, champions shield and coveted Bernie Cup. The junior champion was Yazmine Fellowes, she lifted seven trophies. Bob South was announced the Champion Angler for second year on the trot. Dean Fellowes won the Fur & Feather Cup. Brandon Hall won the heavies fish cup, Niki Mason won Bull Huss Cup. Steve Tate and Pat Beisly lifted the pairs shield. Steve also won heaviest plaice cup. Paw won the stainless worm trophy. Derrick ‘Delboy’ Gregory won the cold storage cup.
