NEYLAND and District Sea Anglers held their latest match at Fishguard Breakwater.
Conditions were dry, but a fresh easterly wind, 12 seniors and two juniors set out at 1pm for the six hour match, fishing was very testing, with not a great deal being caught. The Williams family turned out in force and made it pay, Shaun Williams won first prize yet again, with the heaviest bag, with dad Keith taking the second, also Keith picked up the pool for the heaviest fish, Mike Collins finished in third spot, Conner Williams won the junior section, it was Conner’s first match with the club and took the top prize and making it cracking day for the Williams household.
Thanks to match adjudicators Bob South (booking-in) Richard Davies and Bernie Davies on the scales. The next match is at Pendine on April 13 and it’s an early start, booking in at 10am ready to drive on the beach at 10.30am - fishing until 4pm. The monthly meeting is at Neyland Yacht Club tonight at 7.30pm.
