Gents

SUNDAY was the final day of the Winter League which was marked with a three man Texas Scramble competition.

The winning team consisted of Steve Warlow, Wayne Warlow and Grant Arnold who achieved an impressive score of 72 points in wet and windy conditions. The longest drive prize went to Steve Mayne with further prizes awarded to Phil Davies and Wayne Warlow for closest to the pin on second shot on 5th and 13th holes.

After Sunday’s meal the prize presentation was made for the Winter League the results of which were published in March.

Saturday saw the postponed February Alex Younds Sponsored Monthly Medal finally get played despite adverse wet and windy weather conditions, which resulted in a standard scratch score of 73 and a reduced turnout of 38 players. Winner was upcoming golfer Karl Rhead with a nett score of 71, his handicap has now been reduced to 19 to reflect this excellent score. Second place was taken by Sean Conway with nett 72, third Josh Lewis nett 72 and fourth Tom Hughes with nett 75.

County debuts

ON Sunday, Liam Eva played his debut game for Dyfed against Glamorgan at Cardigan. Unfortunately the final score was 10-5 to Glamorgan but congratulations are still due to Liam who played well and will be an asset to the county team.

Annual Knock out Cups

THIS is the last chance for entries for the Match Play; Llewellin; James Williams; Cleddau Insurance and the Peggy Darlington in the annual knock-out cups; entrance fee is £1 per person payable on entry closing date will be Sunday, April 13.

Ladies Section

LAST Tuesday, 14 ladies played in their weekly tournament and enjoyed, dry and sunny conditions. The winner was Barbara Phillips with 38 points and the runner-up was Enid De Wolf with 34 points. They also shared the twos kitty.

On Sunday, ten ladies took part in the Jamieson Cup/Rhian Pearn tournament and the winner was Jackie Skelhorn with a nett 75 and the runner-up was Barbara Phillips with a nett 78. There were no two's recorded so the kitty will roll over to next week.

Seniors

LAST Thursday, the seniors played their weekly stableford competition.

The competition was played for by 27 seniors with Mike Ballentine picking up the first six Colin Reynolds points of the season with club captain Gwyn Scale in runners-up spot both with the same score of 37 points with Mike having the better score of 21 points on the back nine.

Senior members are reminded that the closing date for this year’s individual and pairs knockout cups is this Sunday.

The seniors will be traveling to St David’s City Golf Club on today (Thursday) to play their annual friendly match.

The list is on the board for the seniors’ first home friendly match of the season against Trefloyne Golf Club which has been rearranged for Tuesday, April 15.

On Thursday 17 and 24 April the seniors will be playing stableford competitions; both competitions will be qualifiers for points for the Colin Reynolds Salvers.

Rotary Charity Golf Tournament

MEMBERS and their guests are welcome to enter teams in the Rotary Club of Milford Haven Sponsored Charity Golf Tournament which will be held at the club on Monday. May 5.

The tournament is for Ladies and Gents and their guests and will be for teams of four in a stableford competition with the best three scores on each hole to count. Handicaps are maximum of 36 for ladies and 28 for gents. Teams can be all ladies all gents or mixed.
