Hakin United 4

Merlins Bridge 0

HAKIN UNITED are on the brink of retaining the title after this four-goal demolition over arch rivals Merlins Bridge.

The Vikings won 3-6 at the Racecourse just a few weeks ago and followed up with a convincing victory at home to complete the double over the Wizards.

Starring for the Vikings was Gareth Fawcett; the defender was used as a striker in this clash and rewarded his manger Gary Dawes with two well taken goals.

The Vikings led two-nil at half time and followed up with two further goals in the second period through a Matthew Broome screamer and a first senior goal for 16-year-old substitute Marcus Allen, younger brother of team-mate Steve.

If the Vikings beat Monkon Swifts at home on Thursday night and Goodwick United lose at home against St Clears, then the Vikings will be crowned champions again.
