Whitland (134 all out) lost to Neyland (237 for 9) by 103 runs

NEYLAND joined Haverfordwest at the top of the table as they proved far too strong overall for Whitland in a comfortable win by 103 runs.

Nathan Banner has been in good form with the ball for Neyland but again provided proof that he is a very strong all-rounder as he helped Neyland from 50 for 3 to a healthy 237 for 9 by scoring an excellent 86 that included 10 fours and three sixes.

Andrew Miller (25) and Henry Durrant (another hard-hitting 40) also featured as Dan James and Scott Newton were the principal wicket-takers for Whitland with respective figures of 4 for 55 and 4 for 60, whilst Geraint Jones bowled well for his figures of 1 for 22.

Kevin Pearce led the Whitland batting with 49 before he fell to wily off-spinner Gary Lloyd, who claimed 2 for 11 alongside Patrick Hannon (2 for 41), Henry Durrant (1 for 20) and Andrew Miller, whose slow stuff bamboozled the Whitland batting line-up in an excellent 5 for 30 spell.

Geraint Jones (21), Jonathan Thomas (18) and Owain Evans (14) were the only other Whitland batsmen to manage double figures as they were dismissed in 38.2 overs to earn Neyland maximum bonus points.
