FOR over 20 years the Bluebirds’ Tote has been the responsibility of Kenny Ellis and for much of this time the money he has collected for Haverfordwest County AFC has been one of the club’s main sources of income.

For the past few years Kenny has been troubled with poor health but he has struggled on with his weekly tasks. However, he now realises that he can no longer volunteer his services on a weekly basis and he has decided to retire.

Chairman David Hughes said: “Kenny’s love for the club goes back 60 years and we hope that he will be able to support The Bluebirds from the touchline for many more years to come. He will now have even more time on his hands to support his beloved Manchester United too.

“Great characters such as Kenny are very rare and his sense of humour could have given him a career on the stage. His commitment to HCAFC in a multitude of roles has been unbelievable and everyone at the club is going to miss his active involvement though I am sure he will want to play some part behind the scenes in the future.

“In thanking Kenny most sincerely for all his hard work I am sure that all his friends and fellow supporters both past and present will join in wishing him a long and enjoyable retirement.”

At the recent HCAFC Presentation Dinner, Kenny was awarded Life Membership of the club that he has so proudly served. He was also presented with an engraved clock. WHAT A DIAMOND: Kenny Ellis (left) is presented with an engraved clock by chairman David Hughes.
