St Ishmaels (134 all out) lost to Haverfordwest (136 for 0) by 10 wickets

HAVERFORDWEST opening batsmen Adam James and Simon Holliday were clearly conscious of rain approaching as they chased down St Ishmaels’ tally of 134 all out in only 12.5 overs as they won by ten wickets.

Tish had been asked to bat first and managed their score in 39.2 overs against the varied Haverfordwest bowling attack in which pave men Adam James and Josh Wilment finished with respective figures of 1 for 34 and 2 for 37 before ‘spin twins Ajay Revu (1 for 21) and Holliday (5 for 13) caused real problems, especially for the lower order batsmen.

Phil Cockburn topped the Tish batting with 50 (eight fours and a six) but only Andrew Williams (42) and Peter Bradshaw (21) ever stayed long in support.

Then Adam James was moved up the order to exert his own brand of batting mayhem alongside Holliday as they sped to 50 in the fourth over, with James only escape coming when he was caught off a no ball because Tish only had three men in the fielding circle, and made Tish pay in full!.

James finished up with seven fours and four big sixes in his 67 not out, with his 50 coming off only 25 deliveries, whilst Holliday was only marginally slower as he finished up on 60 not out, including ten fours and six to give his side an easy finish.
