SATURDAY saw the traditional conclusion of the club's Open Week with the gents playing for The Tom Stockwood Cup.
This attracted a large field of 128 players and a good sprinkling of guests from other clubs.
The weather turned for the afternoon starters with heavy showers making conditions difficult, that some of the less hardy turned to the 19th hole for refuge.
The scoring was excellent once again with keen competition for the first prize. It was Steve Warlow, one of the late starters, who found his best golf to emerge as winner by a clear two shot margin with 45 points from the trio of Grant Arnold, Dai Humphreys and Frank Rimmer who all had 43 points.
The large entry meant that prizes were awarded to the first ten places with countback being required for several positions. The full results can be found in the locker room.
1, Steve Warlow 45 pts
2, Grant Arnold 43 pts
3, Dai Humphreys 43 pts
4, Frank Rimmer 43 pts
