Lawrenny (180 for 9) beat Narberth (132 all out) by 48 runs

NARBERTH were unable to pass Lawrenny’s useful score of 180 for 9 and so are relegated to division two whilst Lawrenny heaved a collective sigh of relief because this victory ensures their remaining in the top echelon of Pembrokeshire Cricket.

Joe Kidney (four fours and a six in his 40), Ian Jenkins (25, including five fours) and Rob Williams (unbeaten on 42, including five fours and two sixes) were the main run-gatherers for Lawrenny and Narberth also conceded a massive 40 extras which allowed Lawrenny to reach 180 for 9 after looking shaky on 105 for 6 with only nine overs left.

Ben Quartermaine (2 for 38 in 11 overs) and Kamal Sharma (3 for 22 in eight overs) were joined by Richard Howell (2 for 33 in 11 overs) and Ben Hughes (2 for 48 in 12 overs) as the successful Narberth bowlers.

Narberth needed a big innings from one of their top-line batsmen but only Mike Scale (24) and Ben Quartermaine (21) managed double figures alongside Ben Hughes (25 not out) as Rob Williams (2 for 24), Steve Lewis (1 for 28) and Alistair Edwards (2 for 49) supported Jamie Lewis’s excellent haul of 4 for 16, all coming in the space of five deliveries and including a hat-trick as Lawrenny celebrated in style.
