LOCAL sportsman Sam Mills (23) and younger brother Tim Mills (20) completed the Fishguard Half Ironman event with times of 5hr 48min and 7hr 20mins respectively.

Two weeks later Tim was admitted to Withybush Hospital with throat and chest pains and was then transferred to Morriston Hospital for a biopsy and further tests which concluded he had a form of cancer. He was then admitted to Cardiff University Hospital, to the teenage cancer ward, where he is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Sam had also entered the ‘Ironman Wales’ event and had already raised £1,100 for the charity "Scope" but since his brother’s diagnosis of cancer he is now also committed to raising monies for the Teenage Cancer ward in Cardiff and received terrific support within the first 24 hours.

If anyone wishes to support Sam and Tim Mills please visit the ‘Virgin Giving’ page and enter Sam Mills (Teenage Cancer Trust) to donate. The Mills family would like to thank all the people who have supported them to date.
