Merlins Bridge 0-2 Tenby

JOE Leahy grabbed a brace and secured a surprise but thoroughly deserved victory for Tenby against Merlins Bridge on The Racecourse.

The Seasiders currently sit third in the table after winning two and drawing one, while The Wizards are ninth after losing two and winning one, not the start to the season that manager Lee Hudgell was craving for.

Both goals came in the first period; Leahy’s first was possibly against the run of play, the striker making no mistake from inside the box.

Two minutes before the break and Leahy struck again, The Wizards failed to clear from a corner and the former Haverfordwest County Welsh League Division One striker pounced with a low drive that flew into keeper Chris Thomas’ far left hand corner.

The second half failed to come alive as the visitors were content to sit back and make the Wizards work hard to find a break through.

But Bridge couldn't make any inroads as The Seasiders deservedly collected three precious points.
