Merlins Bridge 2

Pennar Robins 2

BEN Steele’s late penalty earned Pennar Robins an unlikely draw at Merlins Bridge.

Just as it looked that the Wizards had won the game, referee Paul Rooney had spotted that Bridge midfielder Sean Dockerty had barged an opponent inside the box, and Steele stepped up and made no mistake with an equalising spot-kick in the 87th minute.

After a goalless first period, things changed as Nathan Greene opened the scoring with a header for the Wizards, the Robins replied as Sam Southcott hit the target with an equaliser.

A mistake by Robins keeper Stuart James led to Bridge skipper Stephen McNabney capitalising and restoring his side’s lead, but right on time Steele stole a point by converting from the spot.
