HELLO fellow West Walians!

Hope you’ve had a good week since we last spoke.

After a tough start to the week with Wales I was released back to the Scarlets for the crucial clash against Connacht.

Having not played rugby for a good few weeks, I was raring to go and looking forward to a tough challenge at Parc y Scarlets in front of a vocal home crowd.

It wasn’t to be however, as I was recalled into the Wales camp for the away game to Scotland.

I travelled with the team to Edinburgh as 24th man, front row cover in case anyone got a late injury. It was disappointing not to get on the field but I do feel that I’m a step closer to making my debut and, like I’ve said previously, I’m learning from the experience at the moment and will take the opportunity with two hands if it comes. I roomed with my good mate Rhys Priestland in Edinburgh - and following the hard-fought victory we had some downtime in the city after the game on Sunday.

There’s no international action this weekend so an opportunity might come again to feature with the Scarlets.

The boys did a great job of securing a victory and bonus point against Connacht last weekend - the five points has really kept us in the mix and we’re now level on points with Connacht, who are sixth in the table.

We’ll be looking to continue with our solid home record in the PRO12 and keep on moving up the table.

It’s a nice early kick-off on Saturday (Scarlets v Munster, 2.40pm), so hopefully you can make it up.

Have a good week, Rob.
