PORT STANLEY: Detectives investigating claims of war crimes against

Argentine soldiers in the Falklands are considering excavating a battle

site, a spokesman for the team said yesterday. The six British

detectives, who arrived on Tuesday, planned to make a preliminary

examination at Mount Longdon. They may start digging later, the

spokesman said. Vincent Bramley, a former member of the Paras, has

claimed in a book that some Argentine prisoners were shot after a fierce

10-hour battle for Mount Longdon during the 1982 Falklands War.
