Gents

SATURDAY was the start of the summer season with the Captain v Vice Captain match. There was the usual start in the clubhouse with punch served by Mr and Mrs Owain Picton. By the time the draw had been done and play started the rain had stopped, giving way to bright blue skies but very windy conditions. There was a turnout of 56 players and a shot gun start on three tees. It was a very close finish with many games going to the 18th hole. The final result was a win for the Vice Captain’s team by the odd game. Thanks to all who turned up and also the big turn out by past Captains. The Club Captain thanked the Greens staff for the excellent condition of the course. He also thanked the bar and catering staff for their hard work, and the generous people who donated raffle prizes. A photo was taken of all the players who took part with the Captain Gwyn French presenting the shield to Vice Captain Jeff Button.

This Friday is the Austwel Charity Day. There are still tee times available for teams of 3 at £15 per team, the start timesheet is in the hallway of the clubhouse.

March Monthly Medal was won by Adam Bayjoo, the Club Captain Gwyn French presented him the Medal.
