The second West Wales meeting of the season has attracted 82 entries over seven races, writes Maria Evans.

It is another meeting at Lydstep, Tenby, which on Easter Monday attracted a giant crowd. The Tivyside and Carmarthenshire Hunts have joined forces for this Point to Point, with the first race off at 2pm. The course will be watered to achieve ‘good’ ground, and some bends have been moved since the last meeting at the course.

The Hunt Race has six entries, where Kisha King could give young Elen Nicholas her first winner in what will be their fifth race as a pair. Emma Moseley will be looking to continue her rich season after having two winners in two weeks, with her very own Milled and Nishay both entered. Rob Luke will be hoping for another winner to add to his increasing tally after first time out Maiden Midnite Grace won her maiden at the Llangeinor and Pentyrch meeting last weekend. He has Boldwood entered, Frenni Lad and Redbridge Rebel make up the numbers.

The second race has attracted the most entries, with 19 in the Non-Rules Runners Maiden. Now that the season has got going, the horses are becoming better known. Boost The Power, Final Storm, Brideberry and Northgeorge stand out. Boost The Power finished runner up last weekend, and looks close to losing his Maiden tag soon. Brideberry finished runner up on this course on Easter Monday so we know he’ll be suited by the track. Final Storm and Northgeorge look to be improving as the season goes on.
Both the Ladies Open and Men’s Open look wide open, with a handful of horses doubling up in both races. One who is double entered is Bob’s Law, who hasn’t been seen since finishing 7th in the Aintree Foxhunters. On that form he should be the runaway winner wherever he lines up. Both Highly Unlikely and Sir Du Bearn won on this course last time out. The former in the Ladies Open and the latter in the Men’s Open, and could well repeat that again. Cygnet is one to look out for in the Ladies if he lines up, as he was very unlucky when slipping up when in contention last time out on the course.
The Open Maiden has attracted 15 entries, where Northgeorge has entered once again. His stable mates Which Sky and Miss Treacle also hold entries. Joshella looks an interesting recruit for trainer Amber Griffiths. The seven year old may still be a Maiden, but he’s not short on experience having ran a number of times under rules in Ireland up until January. Gardiners Hill is another Irish recruit, and has run in seven Irish Point to Points to date. The five year old was third last time out in March.
There are seven entered in the Restricted. Mister Bricolage won its Maiden last time out on the course, and will be looking to make it a course double for trainer Mikey Bowen.  This horse will more than likely go back under rules for Mikey’s father Peter, after the Point to Point season finishes. Stony Road has had a successful season so far, having won twice, and finishing second at Brampton Bryan last time out. Dream Bolt is another who could be in contention if lining up.
The final race on the card is the West Wales Area Club Members Conditions, and eleven are entered. Mister Bricolage is also entered in this race, along with the Amber Griffiths duo of Harpsy Cord and Lydstep Hills, who would both be in with chances. My Coranna has shown plenty of potential this season, and looks to be one who keeps improving.
There will be Pony Racing following the main event, along with plenty of refreshments available throughout the day. The cost to get in is £10 for car and driver plus £5 for each other person.
