A beautiful day for the 11 ladies who played today. Some found it a bit more difficult than others, a shame really as the conditions were ideal for golf. Eileen Jenkins came first with 33 points with Margaret Hicks second. She also had 33 points but was beaten on the back nine.

“The ladies won the match against Machynys 3/2 on Sunday The winning pairings were: Barbara Phillips and Liz Durward 2/1; Karen Pullen and Eileen Davies 2 Up; Diana Warlow and Pauline Summons 6/4; Mary Christopher and Margaret Hicks lost 1 down on the 18th; Cheryl Eva/ Veronica John lost 1/2"

There were no twos.

Veronica did the presentation and the attached photo shows Margaret, Veronica and Eileen.

Juniors

ON Saturday, 11 players took part in the 18 hole tournament for the Haven Fuels Trophy, an excellent turnout considering the six lowest junior players were competing in competitions elsewhere. Jack Wilson scored a creditable 40 points and was pushed into third place by Jake Houston with 41 points. But the day belonged to Josh Hutchings who confirmed his potential with 48 points and his first Junior Cup, with a handicap reduction to 30.

The mini six-hole competition was keenly contested again, with scoring tight all round. Maisie Lloyd scored an excellent 27 shots which would be a winning score most weeks, but Liam Williams looks like the player to catch this year and won by setting a very high standard with 25 shots.
