West Dragons 2
Herbrandston 1

TWO penalties converted by player boss Matthew Price kept West Dragons' 100% record, climbing to the top of table for first time in club’s history.
Herbrandston definitely played their part in this tough tussle at the Pavilion Field; Leigh Galdo’s men can count themselves unlucky not to come away with at least a draw. Craig George was brought down inside the box in the 15th minute. Price was clinical from 12 yards, but before the break Shane Walsh scored the goal of the match with a beautiful curling effort that flew in the top corner from a tight angle.
On the 70th minute mark the Dragons bagged the winner, Price controversially went down in the box, referee Angus Scourfield pointed to the spot, and then Price punished Herbie as he drilled home the winner.
Afterwards Price said: “It was a hard game, but I’m just thrilled we won to go top of Division One table for the first time in the club’s history.”
Herbrandston manager Leigh Galdo said: “Yes the better team lost, it’s not often I use that phrase, but it was the case today. Shane scored a stunning goal which involved some excellent team play before his brilliant finish.”
