Rob Evans column:

IT’S been a busy old week since returning from Wales camp! I got back to Parc y Scarlets with the boys on Tuesday after reviewing the Six Nations campaign.

It was great to come back into a good environment with the boys keeping us in a decent position in the table whilst we’d been away.

Wednesday I welcomed the guys from Scrum V down to my uncle Paul’s farm in Llawhaden. We had a walk around the farm, they watched me bed in a newborn calf and potter around the place! The piece went out on Scrum V on Sunday night, catch on iPlayer if you missed on the weekend!

I’d like to say a big thanks to my uncle Paul for the welcome and for allowing the cameras to go behind the scenes on the farm. He put on a superb lunch for the guys after we finished filming. They were treated to the very best Pembrokeshire hospitality!

Saturday’s game against the Ospreys was huge. As I mentioned in my piece on the farm playing for the Scarlets means a lot to me. I’m a Pembrokeshire boy and it’s an honour to represent them. Wins against Ospreys are few and far between and we all wanted to get a scalp on the weekend.

The first half was tight and we knew we had plenty of work still to do in the second half to get the win. I was pleased with how my scrummaging went and was surprised to have been named man of the match.

There’s never a need for any additional motivation for big derby games! The Scarlets support was great as usual and it was nice to be able to walk around the pitch and thank everyone.

I went back home after the game and it was nice to have a few pints in Haverfordwest and catch up with a few boys.

We have another big game this Saturday. Another derby, this time against Cardiff Blues, hopefully we’ll see you all at the Parc. I know I’ve said this before and it sounds like a cliché but it really does make a difference to us on the pitch.

It’s a nice Saturday afternoon kick-off so plenty of time for you to get back to Pembrokeshire before it gets too late!

Hope you all had a nice Easter and tucked in to some tasty Easter eggs. A little treat now and again is definitely allowed!
