MILFORD Haven star David ‘one more’ Round will return to fighting on home turf this September when he aims for a British welterweight title with his first MMA event in Wales for almost four years.

The 29-year-old is set to take on another Welshman in Jordan James - and the pair will do battle in Swansea on Saturday, September 24.

“I’ve known Jordan for a while and I’m surprised we haven’t fought sooner,” said Round.

“He hasn’t fought as much as me in recent times but he will be a good opponent.”

Round began full training a fortnight ago, after a short period away to allow a serious eye injury to heal.

The wound, that required multiple stitches, came from Round's bloody battle with Adam Proctor in the Combat Challenge show, that took place in the Tees Valley Arena on April 9.

“I’m only training locally at the moment but I will soon be going back and for to Newport and Cardiff to spar and train there.

“I’m also hoping to sort a trip to Phuket in Thailand in August for a two-week camp.”

The bout with James is Round’s next confirmed fight – although many are still touting him to take on Alex Reid in what would be a huge fight this summer.

However, although Reid, 40, has publicly spoken of his admiration for the Milford fighter, he remains tight lipped on a possible bout after last month comfirming he wanted to return to the sport.

Round has also issued an amusing verbal response to MMA newcomer Terry 'the dominator' Brazier, who publicly called him out last week – but with the latter due to get married this summer, any potential bout between the pair is likely to be put on hold for several months.
