West Dragons 5-0 Carew

Scott Crawford starred for West Dragons, the deadly striker claiming a hat-trick against Carew at home on Saturday.

The Dragons were in scintillating form in the first period, but the Rooks will be bitterly disappointed that they leaked five goals in the first half.

Crawford set-up co-striker Nathan Greene for the opener on 15 minutes.

Two minutes later and Crawford buried the second, a mistake by Rooks’ keeper Tom Davies let in Crawford for the third, then striker completed his treble for the fourth, drilling a low shot into the far corner.

Just before half time and the hosts scored their fifth, Greene unselfishly setting up Ashley Williams with a simple tap-in.

No further goals in the second half, as the Rooks can take heart from not conceding, but overall the visitors had an uncomfortable afternoon at the Pavilion.

In midweek, West Dragons played their re-arranged game with champions Goodwick United, the visitors gained a crucial 1-3 victory at Phoenix Park. Scott Crawford, Lee Palmer and an own goal secured the points, while Jordan Griffiths netted for the beaten champs.

Angle 2-4 Neyland

Neyland secured their second win of the season at Angle, and are currently unbeaten.

The Nomads took the lead as Geraint Rees Struck, Connor Willis equalised before Nathan Ferrier found the back of the net that gave Angle the lead. Just before half time and striker Andrew Harding equalised.

The Nomads got on top in the second half and added further goals through Rees, his second of the game, and midfielder Wayne Parry.

Monkton Swifts 5-1 Milford United

Monkton Swifts were too strong for Milford United, running out convincing winners at Monkton Lane.

Last season’s Division Two champions deservedly opened up a three-goal cushion at half time. Jason Finnegan opened the scoring with a superb strike from the edge of the area. Ryan Griffiths was on target with the second and third goals, the latter with a brilliant 25 yard free kick that easily beat stand-in Robins goalkeeper Andrew Burgoyne.

In the second period, Daniel Scourfield added the fourth following good work by Tom Meiring, before Ben Nicholas was put clean through and he tucked it past Burgoyne for the fifth. Neil Mathias scored a late consolation goal for the poor Robins.

Narberth 4-0 Johnston

Sean O’Neill scored a terrific first half hat-trick to secure Narberth victory against Johnston at Jesse Road.

The Bluebirds opened the scoring on the 20 minute mark through O’Neill, Tony Evans was on target with the second, as the Tigers were constantly on the back foot.

O’Neill chipped Chris Smith for the third and then the striker beat a defender before slotting home to complete his treble in 20 minutes.

The visitors didn’t concede any further goals in the second period, but they were awarded a penalty, that Joe John saw saved by Jason Jones, summing up their poor afternoon.

Pennar Robins 0-3 Lamphey

Sam Southcott scored two goals in the second half to help Lamphey to a derby victory at Pennar Robins.

Lamphey have made an impressive start to life in Division One, after being promoted last season they have won twice from three outings and collected six points.

After a pretty even first half, the visitors took the lead on the stroke of half time, Mickey Davies’ corner was met with a cracking glancing header by Ross Fortune.

That goal was just the tonic that Lamphey manager Alan Kitts was hoping for.

On the 70 minute mark Southcott drilled home the second from just inside the box, then three minutes later Southcott ran clear and slotted past Jamie Protheroe.

FAW Trophy – Round 2

Goodwick United 3-1 Penclawdd

Goodwick United strolled into the next round of the FAW Trophy after gaining a comfortable win at home against Penclawdd.

The Phoenix Lads led 1-0 at half time, the visitors’ keeper failed to hold onto Adam Raymond’s free kick and centre back Anthony Couzens poked home.

On the hour mark and Jordan Griffiths struck his sides second, five minutes later and teenager Charlie Davies finished from inside the box for the third.

Ten minutes from the end, Luke Lewis struck a 25 yard screamer that flew into the top corner for the visitors.

Goodwick United will host arch rivals Hakin United in the next round on Saturday, October 15.

Hakin United 7-2 Cefn Cribwr 2 (after extra time)

Hakin United’s Bradley Barrett late equaliser forced this gripping FAW Trophy tie into extra-time with Cefn Cribwr at the Obs, the Vikings then grabbed five further goals to march into the next round.

Tom Harris gave the visitors the lead, and then an own goal increased Cribwr’s advantage, in the 75th minute Vikings’ striker Nick Woodrow scored, then right on full time Barrett struck to square matters.

However, in the extra time period the Vikings’ superior fitness told as they strolled to a convincing victory in the end, with both strikers Woodrow and Ben Steele claiming a hat-trick apiece.

Kilvey United 4-5 Merlins Bridge

Joe Leahy was the toast of Merlins Bridge as the striker scored four goals in his side’s thrilling FAW Trophy victory at Kilvey United.

The hosts took a two goal lead as Luke Dalling bagged a brace, but Leahy relied with two goals as it stood 2-2 at half time.

Aaron Lewis scored the hosts’ third, but back came the Wizards with two further goals by Leahy and Luke Hayward found the back of the net with a fifth. Paul Thomas grabbed a late goal that set up a tense finish, but the Wizards held their nerve for the all-important win.
