PEMBROKESHIRE powerboat racers Sam and Daisy Coleman have returned from Mumbai with the NEXA P1 Powerboat Indian Grand Prix of the Seas World Championship team trophy.

The pair went unbeaten over the weekend, taking Baleno RS Booster Jets to the top of the leaderboard.

The battle for the world title ended with the Saundersfoot siblings edging out the Lloyd Dolphins team of Craig Wilson and William Enriquez (United States), and the British husband and wife pairing of Stuart and Sara Cureton, by just two points.

The all-British team of James Norvill, Charlie Parsons-Young, and Glyn and Lee Norvall took third.

In Sunday’s final race the Coleman’s led from the front, but Craig Wilson drove superbly to pressurize them throughout the race and finish 13 seconds behind.

Afterwards, Sam said: “After the two races yesterday (Saturday) in 30-degree heat Daisy and I suffered today and had to battle through the pain barrier. We received tremendous support from the Indian spectators.”

In addition to becoming NEXA world team champions, the Coleman’s three race victories in India have seen them crowned UIM P1 Superstock World Champions.

Both Sam and Daisy have also taken to social medai to thank everyone for their messages on congratulations.
