Welsh League Division One:

Barry Town United 2-0 Haverfordwest County

After a superb run of 11 league games unbeaten, Haverfordwest County missed the chance to go joint top opf the table with defeat at Jenner Park against league leaders Barry Town United.

However, The Bluebirds can take a heart from a display where they arguably deserved a share of the spoils given the amount of possession they had.

In a first half during which the visitors created three clear cut chances it was Barry Town who scored through Louis Gerrard, following a defensive error and a deflection that did not help keeper James Gwilt's cause.

In the second half, Haverfordwest had to chase the game and they out the pressure on - with Barry keeper Mike Lewis, who played well throughout, was definitely the busier of the two keepers.

Again, several chances fell to the visitors but they paid the price for some wasteful finishing, and Barry sealed the win when Jordan Cotterill and Gerrard combined to set up TJ Nagi to score.

The Bluebirds continued to push forward but to no avail, but coaches Sean Cresser and Chris O'Sullivan will know their side have played worse this season and come away with better results.

The result leaves Haverfordwest third, six points off Barry and two points off second played Goytre, ahead of their home game with Risca United this Saturday (2.30pm kick off).
