Pembrokeshire Football League Division One:

Hakin United 2-2 West Dragons

A LATE goal from Hakin substitute Ryan Wilson secured a point for champions Hakin United against the West Dragons at The Obs - and denied the visitors a second place finish in the process.

But that doesn't start to tell the story of a frantic 90 minutes, which saw Dragons midfielder Ashley Williams sent off for two bookable offences, while Hakin's Ali Ouzman and Gareth Fawcett were both given straight reds by referee Dai Badger.

Five other players were also booked in an intense clash, which saw The Dragons start brightly as Jordan Williams made ground down the left and crossed for striker Nathan Greene, who mishit his effort with the goal at his mercy.

At the other end an Adam John cross narrolwy evaded Fawcett, but eight minutes in it was The Dragons who led when Lee Palmer's long free kick found Jordan Williams, who ghosted behind the Hakin defence to volley high into the net from close range.

Just 10 minutes later though Hakin were level, as John's corner was met by an unmarked Daniel Armstrong at the back post, who made no mistake with his header.

Four minutes after though and The Dragons were ahead again as Jordan Williams teed up Crawford on the edge of the area, and he curled a precise effort past Hakin keeper Steve Hartley and inside the post.

Ashley Williams then had a chance to make it 3-1 when the ball deflected into his path on the edge of the area, but Hartley blocked his driven shot with his legs.

Home skipper Nicky Woodrow then went close twice before the break, seeing his 20 yard shot go inches wide with Dragons keeper Blain rooted - before failing to properly connect with a Steve Mathias free kick.

The opening stages of the second half lacked the goalmouth action of the first, but on the hour mark both sides were reduced to 10 men when Ashley Williams and Ouzman clashed - with Williams being shown a second yellow and his opponent a red by Badger.

And five minutes later Hakin were down to nine, as Fawcett was deemed to have lunged in on Nick Squire and also saw straight red.

However, Matthew Price's side didn't appear to make the extra man count, and were indebted to Blain for brilliantly leaping to his left to tip away Woodrow's goal-bound header.

Hakin then had big shouts for a penalty turned down when the ball appeared to strike the hand of Dragons defender Simon Gilderdale, and The Vikings continued to push as Wilson, on for the injured Daniel Armstrong, saw his low 20 yard drive tipped wide by Blain.

But with just a minute of normal time remaining, Woodrow picked up a loose ball on the right of the area, and squared for Wilson to tap home.

It meant that Hakin, who finish their campaign at Lamphey on Thursday, still have just the one league defeat to their name this season, while The Dragons will finish third on goal difference, having matched the points total of second placed Merlins Bridge.
