THE Pembrokeshire Junior Regional Cricket presentation evening took place last Friday, September 1st, and there was much to celebrate after a summer where youngsters have made great strides forward over a variety of age groups.

More than 100 players, coaches, and supporters attended the night at Hook Cricket Club, with every player who represented Pembrokeshire this season getting a medal.

Anyone who scored a half century or more, took a five wicket haul, or managed a hat trick were also awarded a special medal with their achievement engraved on it.

The highest score of the campaign went to Tom Mansbridge, who hit 75, with Ethan Hall recording the best bowling figures of 6 for 11 (including a hat trick).

The Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches (PACC) award went to Finley Lewis for captaining the Under 10s superbly, and the PACC President’s Award went to Loui Davies, for his great commitment during his time in regional cricket.

Five county caps were presented to the Under 15s to Gethin Scourfield, Loui Davies, Morgan Grieve, Tom Mansbridge, and George James – with Mansbridge and James also scooping the batting and bowling awards respectively.

A framed bat, signed by Carlos Braithwaite, was presented to Richard Merriman and representatives of Haverfordwest Cricket Club.

Prior to the evening, an exhibition match took place on The Racecourse between a PACCC Chairman’s XI and a Pembrokeshire Under 15s side – with the Chairman’s XI prevailing by 21 runs.
